Alpha-9 holdup, please help!

Dear all,
Many apologies for this, but I'm afraid alpha-9 will be held up a bit. I have
everything working and compiling fine, with the single exception of ebqt. The
reason? Between version 2.53 and 2.57 - that's right, kids, *four* *minor*
*revisions* - GNU autoconf has, without warning, introduced an incompatible
change which breaks half the configure scripts on the planet, including those
for any application created with KDevelop (indeed, affects most if not all of
KDE as well). This makes it impossible to compile ebqt on my (2.57) system,
thereby rendering the release impossible. And they ask me why I created the
ABS...
In any case, I'd like to ask for a volunteer please. All three branches
(trunk, bleeding and alpha) now contain what would become alpha-9. I would
much appreciate it if someone could take any of those branches and create the
tarballs for me. It's fairly simple:

(1) Get the latest version (svn update) of whatever branch you follow
(2) cd core/ ; ./gen
(3) cd ../ebqt/ ; ./gen
(4) cd ..
(5) dist/make_dist.sh source_tarball
(6) dist/make_dist.sh abs_tarball

Don't even bother trying if you have autoconf 2.57. If it is going to fail, it
will fail at step 3. Otherwise, you should now have two eb-lite tarballs -
please send them to me by any means you can!
