For a design/aesthetics point of view, I prefer 'new2'. I don't have the artistic skill to do that sort of thing myself -- this I freely admit. The stipey background is a little distracting, but the logo is nice, as is the overall feel, colour scheme and the dotted lines. On the other hand, from an engineering POV, mine is better: - mine has a built-in framework for i18n, although currently only an English translation is provided - mine uses a table-less layout, which behaves better on handhelds, text browsers, text-to-speech software, etc - mine provides a netscape/moz/opera sidebar - mine does not use deprecated HTML elements Anyway, I have shamelessly stolen some of Nick's ideas and applied them to my own, to result in a "best of both worlds" design.
