Unix Sockets

I hope someone's awake right now to read this.
I'm trying to figure out how to make eb-lite work
with unix sockets, and what I will have to do with
the protocol data for talking to it. I don't have
QT, so that leaves me with no front-end until I
make mine work with it. I'm interested in using
eb-lite in my client now. It seems to work over
TCP, but I don't want to do that, for the obvious
reason that a little daemon listening for connections
from a UI to interface to a bunch of IM protocols
is just asking for security holes to be found. :)
I'd like to get this working so that I can stop using
GAIM. It's starting to really get on my nerves. :)
