Ok, I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea. The idea is, if
you're sitting in group chats for ages, or have another reason to have
conversations open for a long time, you can then just have this one
window which, e.g., you can maximise to easily get best use of screen
space without fiddling with 2 window positions.

Eeeek! What Qt version are you using? (Help -> About Qt)
Please try with at least 3.1. If 3.1 works and 3.0 doesn't, I think it
might be time to end support for 3.0, since it seems to lead to a whole
bundle of subtle problems that can't be detected until a feature simply
doesn't work. :-/
