Download problem

Hi  Been using Fido for a couple of weeks now and found  I've got a small
problem maybe you can help me fix. When downloading some files from classic
TV newsgroup ( Fido?) doesn't combine them, and if there isn't a Par2 file I
can't combine them .Running XP Pro , Zone Alarm and Norton Intrnet security
Any help would be appreciated TIA
