Thanks for the investigative work... I have actually had success 
connecting to MSN on Panther, so perhaps this is not a 100% thing... 
but it did occur to me in looking at that code that we should check to 
make sure there is actually a port and server defined for the proxy 
before returning non NULL from that function.
