I believe that a change was checked in shortly after that corrected the 
spelling of TabbedChatWidowType to TabbedChatWindowType.  As a result, 
the command that you should run to select the alternate tabbed window 
implementation is:

   defaults write Fire TabbedChatWindowType DrawerTabbedChatWindow
