Hey, I have the plugins in a sort of workable state in Fire CVS.  
Anyone interested in making plugins, please contact me.  I have a nice 
template class for the plugins as well as a simple example.  The 
example is called FortuneProfilePlugin and it sets your profile to the 
result of fortune as installed by fink.

Anyway, if anyone is interested out there, please reply, and I will 
assemble the sources for use.
