Hi there, sorry I've been off for some time, but I was far away from every internet connection in holidays. However, now I'm back. :-) What I want to know is what you guys think is left to do to get this plugin into a state where it can be included in the main Fire distribution (as that is my aim). So lets get this started. What the Plugin does right now (though with a bit of a clumsy ui) is: - doing encrypted chatting via otr - initiating and stopping an encrypted sesssion via the gui - reacting to the other side closing the encrypted conversation by ending it itself - doing some extensive logging (if wanted) with configurable levels of information density - some commands like "/otr enable", "/otr disable" so you don't need to use the gui if you want. :) - some unittests, though very few What it does not: - no localization right now (although most of the strings are already inserted via macro's) - I guess there still are some strings handed through from OTR that are not localized though I need to investigate that - there is no way to view/manage the keys the app accumulates (so it's not possible to verify them over the phone or something like that) - the ui is still a bit clumsy. What I'd like is a toggling menu item that just say's "enable otr-encryption" if it's disabled and says "disable otr-encryption" if its enabled for the current contract (instead of the submenu with two entries that it is right now) - There is no configuration that lets you specify that you always want to encrypt chat to some budy or that preserves the encryption state if you close the window (though I'm not sure this is desirable) Well, thats all I can think of off the top of my hat. Please let me know what you think - I think I should be able to work this out during this and the next week (as I'm still on holidays). Though this also means I'd like to get this done quick. :) Thanks a lot, cu Martin ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Tame your development challenges with Apache's Geronimo App Server.
