If your are behind a NAT, you can only use incoming connections if the NAT is set to forward connections to certain ports to your machine. For example, if you have the NAT set up to forward port 1234 to port 1234 on your computer, then you can set incoming connections and 1234 as one of the ports. If it forwards to any port other than 1234, then you can't set this as a port to listen on. If you have no ports on the NAT set to forward to your computer, then you cannot set incoming connections and should likely set outgoing only. Manually setting the interface and external IP addresses is acceptable as long as they are correct, external IP address being the more important. If empty the external IP address, check the auto detect, it will show the detected external IP address. This should be the same as what you have entered. BTW, you can do this, and uncheck the auto box, and the detected value stays.
