I can understand this.  We may look at implementing several buddy 
window styles to accomodate different needs....  (One more thing on the 
todo list)

The reason it jumps back onto the screen is because of the AutoResize 
feature,,,  If you turn off the Auto Resize (in buddy Window 
preferences) it won't move around on your screen.

This is something we are working on fixing in the next major release of 
Fire...  (Watch for a public beta soon)
