Check/repair permissions... Run a fsck from single user mode... Chances
are, there's something else wrong and you're just seeing it with Fire
acting up. Of course, as the other reply posted, it WOULD help if you told
which version of Fire you're running. Also, besides the OS, is everything
else up to date? Items such as Java, the security updates, etc...
