Set my own buddy icon

With the new CVS release, there's all these great webstyles that use 
buddy icons. I love 'em, but I keep showing up as a shadowy head of 
doom! I tried setting up buddy icons using the normal method (rename a 
picture appropriately and dump it into the Buddy Icons folder), but 
they don't show up for my end of the conversation. (Tho they DO show up 
when I add myself as a buddy, but again, not for my end of the 
conversation with myself.)

Any way I can add a "me" buddyicon? Anyone feel like working up a quick 
hack to permit this if the functionality doesn't already exist?

And, per my requests on the Sourceforge pages: Some method of 
adding/modifying buddy icons in the buddy editor would be most welcome.
