Fire attempts to synchronize the server list with the locally stored 
list at startup. If you look in the Fire Console (Window->Console 
command) you should see messages about which buddies are in the local 
list and not in the server list, or vice versa.

Fire also should be updating your server list as you add and remove 
buddies in Fire, as long as that MSN account is online at the time.
