But I've just remembered why I stopped using sidebar on my laptop. I think I found somewhere a setting that made the width of the sidebar change dynamically, and it keeps changing width for no apparent reason as I mouse around, even when the list of users and their statuses isn't changing, and even when the width is already adequate.
