Fire 1.5.6 & iChat Server

Is there a "trick" to getting Fire to work well with Tiger Server's  
iChat services? I haven't had a chance to try Apple's latest iChat  
with my iChat Server, since not everyone is upgraded to Tiger client  
yet. So, for simplicity sake, I wanted to use Fire 1.5.6 for both my  
10.3.9 and 10.4.5 clients and communicate through the iChat Server  
that came with my MacOS X Server upgrade.

The problems I am having, with both remote and LAN users, is  
sometimes when a person is added to the buddy list, 2 listings for  
that person with a Jabber icon shows up in the buddy list, and also  
Fire often reports that one or the other or both on either side of  
the chat is offline, although we are able to carry on a text chat as  
if we were online (which we really are).

I have a dedicated hardware router/firewall that I've opened TCP port  
5223. Any other ports I need to open specifically for Fire and my  
iChat server to work well together?
