This is, probably, because they changed the server name. As in the 
README for 0.32.g,

- Updated yahoo account settings to use new yahoo server name. (ah)

Yes, it's a bug, because Fire provides no way to see/change the server 
name, even though it's stored in a plist. I think the fix is to go to 
the accounts window, edit the yahoo account and click 'reset' beside 
the port number (if anyone is interested, the new server is 
"scs.msg.yahoo.com").
