I downloaded Fire 0.99.1 (the second build, 11/26 15:21:37, that fixed the
problem someone mentioned here) while visiting relatives in Arlington, and
I'm VERY pleased with how it works. I haven't given it a THOROUGH workout
yet, but everything I've tried does seem to be working.

A few observations... do with them as you will!

Fire's About box says "Fire (c) 1999-2003 epicware, Inc., etc." The "(c)"
should be replaced with the © copyright symbol (option-g on a Mac keyboard)
or the word "Copyright," as US legal precedent holds that "(c)" is not a
valid indication of copyright notice.

I have Fire set to pulse its icon in the dock to let me know of new
messages. When it cancels the notification (i.e. I've seen the new
message), Fire seems to stop pulsing the icon and leave it at whatever
brightness it was at. This means sometimes my Fire icon is glowing
brightly, and makes me think there are new messages.

Being able to specify a temporary away message is one of my long-standing
wishlist items, and I'm VERY happy to see it here! Thank you!

The "Showing Online" icon in the toolbar ought to have a different
appearance depending on which status it's at now.

Now that Fire lets me set my buddy icon, it would be great for the "Set my
Status" icon in the toolbar to show my buddy icon, modified with any status
markers appropriate to the moment, just as my chat windows show my buddies'
buddy icons, modified with any status markers.

If I click a buddy's name in the Stored Instant Message Conversations
browser window, and type something in the search field to try a search,
Fire doesn't find any instances of that term in THAT buddy's stored chats.
It starts with the next buddy. It should start with the one I selected.

The search field should get rounded corners to match Apple's new style in
Panther and the iApps.

I'm using Panther (10.3.1) on a 12" PowerBook G4/867.

Thanks for great software!
