Buddy list missing

Hello, I'm using a powerbook G4 with OS X 10.3.1 and Fire v 0.32.h. My buddy window will not show up. If I select the option from dock menu or the finder window menu, nothing happens (except a checkbox appears in the dock menu). I tried removing fire completely (the app and the user specific Fire directory) and started fresh and it didn't come back.
