Yeah, this was my bug here.  It was adding buddies that were not in the 
local list by blocking them, and on top of that, it had difficulty 
detecting which ones were in the local list.

What is in the system console (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) and 
Fire's console (Window Menu)?  Without this information, I can't help 
debug what is going on.
