MSN Contacts appearing offline

I have been having a major problem recently.

I looked in the archives, but only saw one message similar to my 
problem, and there seemed to be no response.

I joined this list so I could find a solution to the problem.

For the last week or so, all my MSN contacts have appeared offline, 
even though I appear as online to them.

If I use MSN messenger on the Mac, they appear online.

This causes problems, as they send me a message, and when I try to 
reply, I get told they are not online, and my message did not reach 
them.

Is it possible Microsoft have made some change to their MSN network 
to prevent Fire from seeing online contacts?
