MSN still broken

My MSN connection still dies continuously and after about 1 minute of connection. Although, I¹m not sure whether it is even connected at all because I never see any of my Buddies online when it is online. Why does Microsoft, or any chat developers, change the protocols so that 3rd party apps like Fire can¹t connect? How is this hindering them in any way? MSN messenger is free, it¹s not like they¹re losing business. Another question about Fire GUI. When chatting in IRC, there is the online groups drawer at the side. When I close it, I can¹t get it back unless I close and re-open the window. Am I missing a trick to this? Maybe it should have a handle. -- Adam D.
