To use it, you must=20 download the Freenet software, available for Windows, Mac, Linux and other= =20 operating systems. Once you install and run Freenet, your computer will joi= n=20 a global, decentralized P2P network. You will be able to publish and consum= e=20 information anonymously, either through your web browser, or through a=20 variety of third party applications. =46reenet 0.7 is a ground-up rewrite of Freenet. The key user-facing featur= e in=20 =46reenet 0.7 is the ability to operate Freenet in a "darknet" mode, where = your=20 =46reenet node will only talk to other Freenet users that you trust. This m= akes=20 it much more difficult for an adversary to discover that you are using=20 =46reenet, let alone what you are doing with it. 0.7 also includes signific= ant=20 improvements to both security and performance. =46reenet 0.7 RC2 can be downloaded from: http://freenetproject.org/download.html This release would not have been possible without the help of numerous=20 volunteers, and Matthew Toseland, Freenet's full time developer. Matthew's= =20 work is funded through donations via our website (as well as a few larger=20 sponsors from time to time). We ask that anyone who can help us to ensure=20 Matthew's continued employment visit our donations page and make a=20 contribution at: http://freenetproject.org/donate.html --nextPart5627003.cfR87Hyazo Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBIENyWA9rUluQ9pFARAmKZAKCE4et9H/DK5VhGg6ivhhxxDbKCyACeOfaz B1MaIZ5GkN6gZ7pKly+kY50= =8kt2 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart5627003.cfR87Hyazo-- --===============1757942276== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ Announce mailing list [email protected] http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/announce --===============1757942276==--
