For translations we've been using Transifex, which IIRC is pretty well-funded 
and thus has helped us a lot with translating.

There are zero related Google search results for the following searches:

What's the plan for translating a Jekyllrb site then? :|
Is there any working, reasonably stable 3rd party code for Jekyll + Transifex?

A different service than Transifex might not give us as many contributors.
And we got lots of translations for our website already which would be 
impolite to throw away :|

Steve, any ideas about this?
And can you provide us with some numbers on the amount of active contributors 
on Transifex?
