Is Frost still alive?

I have been hearing that Frost is dead for many years, but can't get it
to start on my machine now.

It stalls while "Initializing Mainframe"

I am using Linux Mint 13, latest Freenet package, and the current Frost
release all installed on a clean drive.

Any suggestions?
