Yes. Opennet nodes can have darknet connections. And in fact the hope is that people will start on opennet and then gradually add more and more darknet connections. So that when the rug is pulled from under us (freenet is made illegal), they can simply drop their opennet connections and switch to pure darknet. Opennet will be available when it's done.
