That will certainly help, and is most definitely appreciated. The other half of the rant relates to my suspicion that the UDP NAT-hopping tricks will fail to work reliably on several kinds of firewalls. I have absolutely no evidence to support this apart from this: ============================================================================= Dijjer Status (Build 100) Active Downloads No active downloads Recent Errors Connectivity External address: wooledge.org:52909 Connections Peer Port Build Throttle 133-158.champlain.edu 9114 98 1.0 k/sec, (w: 2.0, r:1571.0, d:NaN) Recent Events Local Cache Current cache size: 0MB out of 8192MB Current hash store size: 2 hashes out of 100 hashes ============================================================================= I've had this Dijjer node running for literally *months*, and there's not a damned thing in the cache. (There have been a few megabytes in the cache at various times, but rearrangements of the cache have always destroyed Dijjer's ability to use its own cached data, rendering the cache empty once more.) Last I heard, Freenet 0.7 was planning to use Dijjer's basic underlying transport tricks. I really hope they work. -- Greg Wooledge | "Truth belongs to everybody."
