RE: ISPs in Argentina Must Log Everything

I seem to remenber that ISP's and telecoms companies in the UK must do the
same , they have to log online activities and phone calls ( number dialed
and length , not content ) and store it for X number of years. At the time
there was cries from the ISP's that they couldn't possibly store the data
they capture. More worrying is that Mobile phone service providers store the
cell location when you make a call or send a message, effectivly tracking
everyone who has a mobile phone. This information has played a part in
several major criminal cases , notably the Ian Huntly child murder case. It
seems the police have woken up to this information to such an extent the
phone companies are complaining about the number of requests they are
getting !
