I have tried to run an Freenet node on one once, but that failed miserably. While most of that failure can be attributed to its lack of memory (I used a Model B v1.0, sporting only 256 MiB of memory), the Raspberry Pi's computational power would not have been enough to run a node with more than a handful of peers. An old smartphone is, for the same reasons as above, unlikely to be capable of running a full-featured Freenet node.
