If you have a set of nodes whose only connections are to other nodes in
the set—i.e., a “darknet”—then no external data can get in. Think about
it: where would the external data come from?

By being a member of both darknets, your node joins the two into one. By
accepting opennet connections, you provide a bridge between open and dark.

You _can_ run multiple nodes on a single computer, e.g., for your
personal use and for controlled research use, and they will not be
connected unless you explicitly do so.
