Subscribing to lists

Hi

Probably not the right place to send this message, but it is related to 
a website problem.

I've been trying to sign up to some of the Freenet mailing lists, but 
without much success. I go to the sign-up page, enter my details, but 
then I get an error back from my proxy server saying the connection has 
timed out - details below.

Now, the proxy seems a bit impatient - it only waits 20 seconds - so I 
tried it from home, with similar results - I click the subscribe button 
and nothing happens.

But - I have manage to suscribe to this list, it's the others that I 
can't get on to.

Is there an email based subscription method I can use instead of the 
web-based one?
