I think many people are running vanilla kernels on redhat systems. Though
most will not try to build an rpm for it, unless they have some large
scale setup (as was posted just hours ago) where they keep their own
systems in sync using rpm and therefor use a custom kernel rpm. Those
who do this, should probably be able to figure out how to get things
working.

I am not sure how the Suse or Mandrake kernel rpm's work. Did we just
lose those builds as well? I can imagine Mandrake just cloned the RedHat
stuff (perhaps calling it MDR_CONFIG? :) but I think SuSe is quite
different, though they already ship with Freeswan in their stock kernel.
I'm not sure how Connectiva uses rpm with their kernel builds.

All in all, I don't think it will matter too much
