This is not great because distance between two servers is 1500 km. And packet routing follow through 5 different countrys. Right. It's a bad ping rtt. Seems one or the other end is not so well connected to the inet or the connection has other problems. If I activate ipsec then appear strange things. I ping other side of ipsec - and see that average time is 3000-4000 ms and loss - 5%-10%. If I turn off ipsec - all done. I work with FreeS/WAN about 6 month and have ~10 ipsec channels but watch this problem first time. Know anybody what is a reason of this trouble? No. Maybe a bad NIC on the other tunnel end point? No, NIC on the other side is good, because without ipsec - all ok. I make ping between servers with FreeS/WAN (no NAT or Masquarading). And average load of servers is 0.1 - this load not reason of problem. How can you tell for sure? Did you do some network sniffings on your or the other end's adapter? Philipp
