our environment is moving toward pam ldap for authentication purposes. We are
doing this due to a security audit that requires passwd aging. I am not
an ldap expert, but it is my understanding that to enable passwd aging in LDAP,
we have to use pam ldap.

Oddly enough, when I run configure with --enable-pam and finish the compile
/install, ftp works. Or at least the authentication part does.  I haven't
tried any of the other features.  I am more concerned about the error
I recieve during the compile because the wu-ftp 2.6.2 server will be 
deployed as an upgrade to wu-ftp in a large environment and we are not 
sure specifically of what tools/applications are using it.
