RE: RedHat ES3.0--RESOLVED

Two things resolved the issue:

1.  Use 'configure' (can't figure out how to use build and disable) and
use --disable-pam option.  Never had to use that option on Solaris nor
Suse linux, weird.  Anyway, it wouldn't authenticate guest users because
trying to use pam.
2.  To make 'make' work, had to issue touch to *.c files in src:  'touch
src/*.c'.  Trick a guy at work mentioned fixed their problem once.

I've tried and tried to use configure (which succeeds) but when I then
type make it errors out with the errors below.  I have to use 'build

Are you building using configure ?

This appears to support --disable-pam and --enable-shadow options, to
disable PAM and support alternative passwd/shadow files, respectively.
