Hi all,
short : i can't upload althought upload is specified in ftpaccess when I
use /etc/passwd to specify the root-dir and the automatic cwd
I would like to set up the following configuration :
being able to log ftp users in different specific root-dir in using
/etc/passwd
and I would also being able to automatically log them in a special dir
(here /pub)
like that :
ftp1:!:102:102::/var/wu-ftp/ftp1/./pub:/bin/false
ftp2:!:102:102::/var/wu-ftp/ftp2/./pub:/bin/false
now if I try to manage the upload permission, I have problems :
I always get :
ftp> pwd
257 "/pub/incoming" is current directory.
ftp> put gggggg.jpg sss.jpqqg
local: gggggg.jpg remote: gggggg.jpg
200 PORT command successful.
553 gggggg.jpg: Permission denied on server. (Upload)
when uploading a file althought I - think I - modified the ftpaccess
file correctly
ftpaccess was :
upload /var/wu-ftp/ftp /pub/incoming yes ftp daemon
0666 nodirs
this other tries didn't succeed either :
upload /var/wu-ftp/ftp/./pub /incoming yes ftp daemon
0666 nodirs
upload relative /var/wu-ftp/ftp/./pub /pub/incoming yes
ftp daemon 0666 nodirs
the only one working is :
upload * /pub/incoming ...
which allow upload in /pub/incoming whatever the root-dir is...
if I modify /etc/passwd and use */var/wu-ftp/ftp1* instead of
*/var/wu-ftp/ftp1/./pub* for the root-dir, upload filter is woring ok :
I can upload in /var/wu-ftp/ftp...
I would like to control it and also being able to specify the root-dir
in /etc/passwd, anyone now what am I missed ?
version : Version wu-2.6.2(1) Wed Mar 3 22:51:51 UTC 2004
I thank you much in advance
also :
is there a way to avoid the message at the end of the ftp connection to
be displayed (or change it) ? :
221-You have transferred 0 bytes in 0 files.
221-Total traffic for this session was 1116 bytes in 1 transfers.
221-Thank you for using the FTP service on jpl.
221 Goodbye.
