Slow FTP uploads/Downloads when NIC card is set to Full-Duplex

Hello,

We are running a sco box (Sco Openserver 5.06a, Compaq Ml 380, Dual 1.2
ghz, 2 gig ram) with wu-ftpd 2.6.1. FTP transfers both up and down are
very slow with NIC card in Full Duplex. If we change the the nIC card to
Half Duplex the ftp transfers are lightning fast, as they should be, but
this server is a Informix db server which talks to other servers and if
we change the duplex setting we get lots of collisions at the switch and
the db access is slowed down. Is this a known problem?
