Please don't call Gnutella "Gnu". 

Gnutella might be a free network, but it isn't GNU software (even though many 
Gnutella programs are licensed under the GNU General Publich License). 

If you refer to Gnutella, please use "General Gnutella Network", "Gnut" 
or "GNet" to avoid confuding the readers. 

Besides that: LimeWire is the biggest fish in the Gnutella network right now. 

And Bearshare has been given as ransom to iMesh, which suckered up the the 
RIAA. 

Just use LimeWire for testing, that's the most relevant testbed for a Gnutella 
client. 
Also it can't hurt to test against the smaller but still relevant programs:

- http://gtk-gnutella-sf-net
