Yes, but what I said was not even citing LimeWire namely, it was general for any Gnutella application. I also wanted to stop such request immediately before someone gives bad solutions, because this message looks like a test to see if Gnutella developers and supporters are actively giving advices on how to breach laws. Really, Gnutella does not need that, because it is currently challenged and this list is monitored. There are similar requests found in every public list or online forum; they are looking like innocent requests for things that are really obvious, so I think that those requests are not innocent, but are really organized to build proofs against Gnutella. Anyway, it's definitely not unuseful to repeat again and again the most obvious legal advices and campaign to place users with their own responsabilities. It's certainly better to have less users that are downloading Gnutella applications only to break the law, but keeping those that are thinking about how they use the application. If you think that Gnutella is not challenged, you're wrong. There are ongoing procedures against all the most wellknown Gnutella client vendors and developers. And attacks coming from everywhere in several countries. Despite I have never distributed any Gnutella servent myself, I have been challenged personally only because I participated very modestly to the development of LimeWire. I have not been able to prove anything illegal against me, not even when the police came at my home based on false accusations, I've been able to win in a case, and I finally received compensation (some money) after private negociations to avoid that I start a law suite against those that made false accusations. So I know that the place where I participated are being monitored, and that those attacking Gnutella are even breaching the laws and abusing our liberties... But they still continue to "test" us. > -----Message d'origine----- > De : [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] De la part > de Arne Babenhauserheide > Envoyé : jeudi 22 mars 2007 16:59 > À : [email protected] > Objet : Re: [the_gdf] Sharing Limewire Music > > I thought we had agreed years ago, that this isn't a LimeWire support > List? > > Am Mittwoch, 21 de März de 2007 15:54 schrieb Philippe Verdy: > > You don't share CD's in the Gnutella network.
