Converstations with Christian are available here, "http://www.lugs.ch/~melone/egg2html.php?channel=gtk-gnutella&date=29Mar2007" "http://www.lugs.ch/~melone/egg2html.php?channel=gtk-gnutella&date=28Mar2007" etc. LimeWire is also open source. [limewire] $find . -iname \*\.java -exec grep -l -i mojito {} \; ./gui/com/limegroup/gnutella/gui/menu/AdvancedMenu.java ./gui/com/limegroup/gnutella/gui/Console.java ./core/com/limegroup/gnutella/dht/impl/NullDHTController.java ./core/com/limegroup/gnutella/dht/impl/PassiveDHTNodeRouteTable.java ... etc. I am not a LimeWire affiliate. I think they are doing a fair job of keeping people in the loop. The fact the source is available is pretty much 100% indicative that they are not monopolistic. See "http://www.limewire.org/checkcode.shtml" It would be nice if some rationals were provided and/or documentation on protocols, as well as any analysis. However, I think they develop in the real world ;-) fwiw, Bill Pringlemeir ____________________________________________________________________________________ Bored stiff? Loosen up...
