Consider banning Lars Magne (from gmane.org and gnus.org) from this list

I have just discovered that Lars Magne (managing the gmane.org site) has
monitored and archived this list, but is republishing it fully to the web,
without even taking care of protecting out privacy (he gives all the details
including the poster names and email address).

All of its many archived lists are republishing private email addresses
without notice since more than 5 years and making these addresses available
to all search engines and spammers's bots in the world.

Consider testing your own email address at http://search.gmane.org/
(enter your own name in the "Search for keyword" or "Written by" field, and
specify "gmane.*" for the "In group" field.)

This site is making your email address visible to the whole world without
authorization.

Already, the Unicode Consortium has taken measure against this archive site
(blocking it).

Lars Magne is replying to our requests to remove our email addresses from
the public list and affirms that he made the job, but in fact he makes
nothing, and continues to serve the copies to the world.

Consider this site as a spammers heaven site, because it does not take the
minimum measures that other responsible Internet archives are making so that
private data will not be made visible to random publics or bots harvesting
these illegal archives made without even informing anyone on the mailing
lists that this site was duplicating EVERYTHING you post to make it
available to ANYONE without any condition.

Lars Magne is now asking us to perform ourself the job for unlisting us.
This is really unfair, because it requires us to use his lengthy site to
look for a now very long list of internal message ids. This is unexpected
and long job when you have posted thing since years.

In the meantime, consider banning Lars Magne (and his domains: "gmane.org",
and "lars at gnus.org" where he has an email address) from this list
(exclude any forwarding to him), and look yourself for other lists from
where he has copied the content unfairly, unless he gives now very strong
guaranties that he will protect private data by default, hiding people name
and email addresses to every one that is not explicitly or legitimately
authorized.

Consider complaining by writing him. Keep his responses for later as a
proof. Because he is lying about the requested removals... And if this is
not enough, complain by signaling it to as many spam fighting group you are
participating to.
