The Gnutella Web Cache system has been dead for a long time.  The UDP
host cache is now the preferred solution. And gtk-gnutella no longer
uses the Gnutella Web Cache system (either for getting hosts or for
updating).

If your aim is to develop a cache for Gnutella, you should build a UDP
host cache instead, as the traffic overhead will be much lower and
there is no need for clients to regularily update the cache: it's only
a bootstrap mechanism.

The challenge is: can you develop a better cache (using less CPU time and
bandwidth) than what GhostWhiteCrab already provides? If not, then why
re-invent the wheel?
