Hi Phillipe, 

If I understand you right, the essence of this is “Searching for files by name 
has, in my opinion, little value”. And I disagree. 

Especially because it can easily be extended (and has already been extended) 
to searching by metadata, which allows finding similar content. 

And most of the other things you describe can already be done via i2p 
(anonymizing p2p network layer) and freenet (pseudonymous publishing and chat 
= strong anonymous identities). Especially freenet delivers the short lifetime 
part you describe (while in Gnutelle stays in there until the last sharer 
removes it). 

Sure, websearch engines provide often faster search, but they are controlled 
by a single identity and can easily be censored. 

So I think Gnutella has a very good place with highly performant tag-searching 
and (due to the DHT) very performant exact match searching. The second makes 
it easier to implement services upon it, while the first is the Google of p2p: 
the starting place for everyone who doesn't yet know where to go.
