Hi,

Here are some more strength and weaknesses:

file verification using tiger tree hashing].

+ Strength: Seperation of exact search (locating sources) and fuzzy search
(looking for content; p2p Google) into two optimized networks (original GNet +
DHT; one tool for one task).

+ Strength: Can use standard http sources as seed files for downloads.

- Weakness: Hard to write a new servent which connects to Gnutella (harder for
new developers to get in).

- Weakness: No easy (and low overhead) way to do specialized searches (like
regexp or metadata - like “show me articles written by Richard M. Stallman”).

- Weakness: No integration into desktop applications (like jabber clients for
finding first connections - or Gnutella for file transfer: “hey, wait, let me
send you this file” -> if the other is Gnutella enabled, send a magnet with me
as first source and automatically enter the swarm for awesome download speeds).
