Perhaps I misunderstood what you're saying, but if you're only concerned 
about a Gnutella library that you can simply tack onto your own app, 
those are already available (C++, Java, etc). That's quite a bit 
different from writing an app based on the Gnutella protocol from the 
ground up, which is a complex task compared to its predecessor.
