The python code is public domain, you can use it if you like. I did so, as far 
as possible, since it was written by people who have a deep knowledge of the 
protocol. However it sometimes (or always) makes sense to re-use as much code as 
possible. My main focus was using LimeWire's VerifyingFile class as far as 
possible make torrents behave in a fashion quite similar to the 
ManagedDownloader (implementing the Downloader interface) so you can add them to 
the GUI.
