Hello again...I got a little further (actually a lot, but still not 100%). I have figured out how to build core.jar and then execute the "ant LimeWireJar" target from the GUI branch. This, in turn, appears to add core.jar contents to a new LimeWire.jar which is almost (but apparently not exactly) the same as the one I am trying to replace. I can actually run LimeWire.exe now, and my own LimeWire.jar is used. But I do get a few missing class errors (below) that I can't seem to resolve. I have searched through the code that came with the 4.2.6 source snapshot (Zip archive) that I downloaded from Limewire.org, but the TransactionListener and PlasticButtonUI classes aren't there. I also looked for them inside of the original LimeWire.jar, but there weren't in there either so I started to look in other JARs. I found TransactionListener in daap.jar, and PlasticButtonUI in looks.jar. So, they're available but my LimeWire.jar is clearly close but not quite right. When I remove it and put back the original LimeWire.jar everything works just fine, but as soon as I try to use my own LimeWire.jar these error pop up. Strange...I imagine there must be one last step to creating LimeWire.jar that I'm missing. .... I'll keep working on it, and in the meantime thought I'd pass on the two exceptions that I get that mention these classes....
