Actually LimeWire does not need it, as it already has this feature since 
long, but now prefers UDP NAT traversal, which works even more often than 
TCP NET traversal.

This was demonstrated on large scale by LimeWire (with its first exclusive 
NAT-to-NAT traversal protocol, which avoids using a proxying agent, by mean 
of NAT UDP traversal), and now this UDP NAT traversal is in use in Skype 
too, and several instant messenging tools.

Skype is based on the proprietary, heavily copyrighted and closed Kazaa P2P 
protocol, and was created by the same authors as Kazaa, but was modified to 
include UDP NAT traversal. Skype has really created the "killer app" that 
will boost Kazaa out of its old business, for the more respectable business 
of VoIP within commercial portals (and that's why eBay paid so much to get 
the small company in Luxembourg, Europe).

There are other killer apps to create based on P2P: notably a true content 
delivery network (CDN) for live-broadcasting free TV and radio programs (may 
be the authors of Skype are working on it now, because they've got the 
technologie, even if they won't own their previous VoIP market bought by 
eBay).
