The last comment is the main reason for this.
Many times you leave the pc on all night, when you wake up in the morning, nothing downloaded.

I guess it wont generate more traffic, since you'll be able to finally download the file, instead of requesting manual searches.

This way, when the other person gets online, you'll get to download from him/them, and you'll be able to share more

This should definetly be an option. Specially for big downloads

WinMX, and some eMule clients have it, it shouldn't be a big deal to add  a timer to activate every N minutes on the event of inactivity (only for those files that you want, that way you just create traffic for files that really need it, not for every download you make)
