   Body:
A good workaound could be a new feature for Limewire.

Look at MLDonkey's web interface.

Have something very similar to this but simpler for a first version.

I suggest if possible to use some of the core features to build a simple web interface that:
-> Is password protected if accesed from an ip address != 127.0.0.1
   or from a list of trusted ip addresses (which is probably not very good, but mldonkey does it that way if I'm not mistaken)
-> Allows you to see the status of your downloads. So If you see a download that you really crave to have, but since no auto-resume will be built, then you can remotely tell Limewire to look for more sources
-> Allows you to kill download

Features after first release:
-> Search
-> Control all the options, download/upload bandwidths
-> See current uploads, be able to kill them
-> Stats

I think its very feasible, you just have to build a web interface to access existing functionality. No need to build a remote client with RMI, or Corba, or SOAP or anything like that... just a web interface that invokes methods on the current instance that runs on your home pc.

This would totally kick a$$.
